Dog Parks in Rhode Island

Over two weekends at the end of the summer in 2024, I visited (what I thought was) all of the dog parks in Rhode Island… I have since discovered there are two additional parks to visit (in Newport and Cumberland) – which I hope to visit this summer.

Despite being the smallest New England state (only 39 townships and cities) it has the highest proportion of parks of all the New England States, with 21 areas designated as dog parks. Although Providence has 3 parks and Pawtucket 2 – that is still almost 50% of the towns or cities that have a park!

In the map below, the towns with visited parks are marked in yellow. Parks which have not yet been visited are marked in green, and towns which are in the process of building a dog park have been marked in blue.
